Sheriff Kelton

1202 - Sheriff Charles “Charlie” Kelton; Sheriff Kelton began his career in 1997 with the Shelbyville Police Department. He attended the Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy and worked a year and a half as a patrolman until accepting a position with the Kentucky State Police in 1999. Upon completion of the Kentucky State Police Academy he was assigned to Post 5 and to Trimble County as a trooper.  He worked closely with then Sheriff Denny Long and shortly after Sheriff Tim Coons. He worked Trimble County as road trooper until promoting in 2009 to the rank of sergeant and was assigned as the Trimble/Carroll County Squad Sergeant.  After the passing of Sheriff Coons during his 4th term, Sheriff Kelton accepted an appintment to sheriff by Judge Jerry Powell.  Sheriff Kelton is married to his wife Tara and his son Landry attends the ilead Academy as a student. Sheriff Kelton is also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom and has been activated/ deployed on several occasions.  He is currently the Chief Enlisted Manager for the 123d Security Forces Squadron, Kentucky Air National Guard and is in his 28th year of service.  He considers it an HONOR and Privilege to serve the citizens of Trimble County.

1203 - Deputy Timothy R. Wakefield; Deputy Wakefield is an Oldham County resident where he began his law enforcememt career at the LaGrange Police Department working there from February 1990 to April 1991. Tim moved to the Oldham County Police Department working there April 1991 to July 2015. He retired as the Major of Operations from OCPD in July 2015. Tim came to work for TCSO on a part-time basis at the Trimble County Sheriff’s Office August 2016 to present. Tim is a state certified Officer and worked with all OCPDs Operational units and Tim is also a certified LE firearms instructor and a CCDW instructor. 

 

1205 - Deputy Glen Powell;  Deputy Powell has been with the Office for 16 years. He began working under retired Sheriff Denny Long. Deputy Powell’s duties are evening patrol and maintaining the office computer network. He came to TCSO after retiring with 20 years with the Louisville Police Department. As a Louisville policeman he served as a patrolman, a motorcycle officer and a detective. While with LPD Deputy Powell had colateral duties as the Department Tactical Defense Instructor and worked on the Underwater Recovery Unit for twelve years. He was awarded the Louisville Police Department Medal of Valor in 1989. Deputy Powell is a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Coast Guard with tours in Iraq working for the Army’s SDDC in 2007/08 and Guatanamo Bay in 2012.  

1206 - Deputy Guy Gene Cutshaw;  Deputy Cutshaw has been a lifelong resident of Trimble County. He has long been involved in his coummunity and law enforcement being a member of the of the Bedford Baptist Church, an honary Kentucky Colonel, a member of the NRA and a sponsor of the US Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Deputy Cutshaw assists with serving civil and criminal documents, serving legal process notices, vehicle indentification inspections and patrol related issues. 

1207 - Deputy Dennis Sharon; Deputy Sharon comes to TCSO with a wealth of Law Enforcment expereince. He is retired from both KSP, and followed that with a second LE Career working with the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Department. TCSO and Trimble County has benefited greatly from the knowledge and experience brought to service by Deputy Sharon.

1210 - Deputy Dale A. Ralston; Deputy Ralston began with the Trimble County Sheriff's Office July 2007. He serves as Deputy/Court Security Officer. He also handles tax collection, is the office Training Officer scheduling mandated training for staff, and manages the warrant and process service. He takes citizen complaints via phone and in person, and also handles CCDW applications along with other general office duties. Deputy Ralston retired from the Kentucky State Police after 31 ½ years as Police Telecommunication Operator and Driver Testing Administrator. He began service with KSP January 15, 1977 and retired July 31, 2008. Dale has been a life long resident of Trimble County. He graduated from Trimble Co. High School in 1975

1211 - Deputy Greg Collett; Deputy Collett was hired in 1990 at the Oldham County Police Department, worked in uniform patrol until transferring to Detective/Criminal Investigations in 1997. Promoted to   Detective Sergeant in 1999, supervising the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2015, promoted to      Major of Operations Division and served in that role until retiring in 2017. Prior to starting his law  enforcement career Greg employed at Oldham County Central Dispatch 1987-1990, also served as a  volunteer firefighter/EMT with LaGrange Fire & Rescue while at OCD. Greg graduated from Oldham    County High School
  

1212 - Reserve Deputy Jamie Hubbard; Deputy Hubbard began working for the Trimble County     Sheriffs Office in 2015. He is a U.S.Army veteran and a graduate of Eastern KY University and    Madisonville College where he holds a national certification in surgical first assisting. He is also a    graduate of Metro Louisville Police Department’s Citizen’s Academy. Deputy Hubbard enjoys working       in law enforcement and serving the community. Deputy Hubbard assists in serving civil and criminal    documents, vehicle inspections, and patrol related issues.

Property Tax/Office Manager - Vicki Butler; Vicki has been with the Sheriff’s Office for quite      sometime, working for Sheriff Denny Long before Sheriff Coons took office. Vicki returned to the       TCSO at the start of Sheriff’s Coon/s 3rd term to support office operations and handle property            tax activities.
